Copy environment

Hi guys,

I was trying to copy an environment. It failed with numerous profile issues before. I've deleted the unwanted profiles and somehow it looks like it has copied it correctly but i'm not sure as the logon screen appeared when I came back to check on the status.

I copied the environment through the web admin.

1. Web administration

2. Manage environment

3. Choose environment.

4. Click Copy

Is there any way i can check the status from the backend if the copy was indeed successful? Is there a way to duplicate the environment in the backend ? I tried UJBR to backup my current environment but there's always an error comes up saying string too large. that's the reason why i'm using copy via web admin.

Hi Budiman,

You can use web admin to copy the environments, and UJBR will work too.

after the copy can you see the environment in the manage environment tab?

Are you the sysadmin? if not you need to add users to the new environment after you made the copy.

Yes i'm the sysadmin.

I've copied and when i returned (i left the process running and i returned to check after 4-5 hours), the logon screen appears. I'm not sure where and how to check the actual status if the copy is really successful or if there are any errors. Do u know where i can check status of the copy done in web admin? i know how to check status for ujbr but not those copy from web admin.

Can you see the new environment under manage environment?

you can also check in RSA1, or UJBR just see if the environment name appears.

Yes i can see it. That's where my worry is, whether the process was really a success or otherwise. When I returned i only got the logon screen where usually the progress window will be showing.

Check SLG1 with your ID and approximate time frame.

Hi Budiman,

ok, then try log on to the new environment, test by create a dimension, process a dimension, create an input sheet.

If they all work then the copy process was successful.
