SAP Product Data Replication: UPS Error Notification Query

Hello,

I am new to SAP Product Data Replication

We have implemented product data replication between 2 SAP systems for our client. The design and R&D takes place in one client and master data is posted everyday, via PDR UPS packet in a nightly job.

We have a requirement that if there are errors in the packet which was created for a particular day lets say Monday night;s packet has errors then a notification should be sent to select users and next packet day packet generation should stop.

Please let me know how this is achievable, in case more details are required I shall be free to share.

Our logic is,

1) Perform FOX everday via a batch job

2) Create a new baseline everyday in background at night

3) Create a packet for exploded objects and send it, but sometimes the packet is in error and it has to be manually corrected

In case the packet is in status UPSE Errors when sending, then we need to send a notification to select users.

We need to improve this process where in if a packet is in error, the user should be notified automatically.

Best Regards,

Ameya B.

Hello Ameya,

When you start distribution, the system starts workflow WS 20000104, in which a subworkflow is started for each distribution packet. This workflow is nothing but which was used in DMS for document distribution.

Even, You can check the workflow log using SWI1, from there you will get an idea how this distribution works.

You can enhance this workflow similar to user receiving document distribution notification mails...

PDR documentation is available here. You will get an idea of PDR tool in detail...
