I'm looking for help with a connectivity error that I get when I try to refresh a Crystal report in Business Object, CMC and BI Launch pad. I can view the file, but can't refresh it. The error I get reads "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect".
Additional info. I'm using Crystal server 2013 and Crystal reports 2013. I have an ODBC connection I use and it works when I run the reports in Crystal, so I believe my is correctly setup. I have tried running the report on the same server and I get the same error. Any help would be really appreciated.
Below is a snapshot of the setup for the object in Business Object.
Hi Miguel,
Make sure following points check:
1.Try creating a ODBC for the same connection on server from which you are accessing the report.
2. The problem was that using username and password for accessing the server not username and password for database.
3. Well you did not say what version of CR/BOE/BI you were using. Some parts like CR I believe still require the 32 bit Client to be installed.
CMC having DB Credentials saved approach:
a. Login to the Central Management Console web application.
b. Navigate to the folder containing the reports you wish to modify.
c. Select the desired reports.
d. Right-click on any one of the selected reports and select 'Database Configuration'
e. Edit the username and password
f. Click the "Save" or "Save & Close" button

Hi DJ, I still got the same error.
Point 1, i have it correct.
Point 2, I tried the different credentials I have with no success
I followed the CMC having DB Credentials saved approach, but no success.
Anything else I can try? Below is the information for the systems I'm using.
I have Crystal report 2013 and the same for Crystal server. Below is the BOE and BI info.
SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1
Version: 14.1.1.1036
Hi ,
This causes ODBC connectivity is not set properly.
Create a 32-bit ODBC DSN connection with the same name for use by Crystal Reports 2013 Processing servers (As the Crystal Reports 2013 Servers are 32-bit processes on the BI 4.0 backend platform.)
Please check ODBC Connection in server side.
Thanks,
DJ
Hi,
check this you have clarity about it
START MENU-> FIND ODBC DATA SOURCE ADMINISTRATOR -> RIGHT CLICK ON THAT -> CLICK PROPERTIES -> Target: odbcad32.exe
This is 32 bit odbc data source finding way in client side. But server side also do samething..
Thanks,
DJ
In case of ODBC Connection- Custom logon info- Leave DB field blank. Provide only server info.
