How to download SPS without SolMan

Hi all,

I need to patch a SAP PO 7.31 SPS3 to SPS13.

Unfortunately it is a standalone sandbox system, where no SolMan is available.

I need to download the SPS13 but I'm unable to do so.

Even if I wanted to do that manually, I don't know which components should be downloaded.

Can anyone please assist on how to download the full SPS?

Thanks regards

Vincenzo

With no solman, you need to raise an indecent for SAP to provide you the this stack(if they can).

Take down the information of your current system components with SP and patch levels and share this with SAP.

Thanks, regards

To be honest, I am not sure which component is required

As MOPZ is intrinsic, however, for old release you can the stack from market place itself.

But if SAP can help you in this, please share with all of us.

XX-SER-SAPSMP-SWC.

SV-SMG-MAI

SV-SMG-MAI does not deal in principle with issues related to downloading stuff without Maintenance Optimizer .  I'd stick with XX-SER-SAPSMP-SWC.

Hello,

there are a few ways to download Support Packages without Maintenance Optimizer:

- Upgrades or updates that involve using upgrade or stack DVDs . You can check if the product you want to update is one of these in the upgrade guide for it. Examples include Solution Manager 7.1, which you can update with a stack DVD.

- Old product versions : there are product versions that were released before the advent of Maintenance Optimizer. Most of these are out of maintenance though.

- product versions that have entries in the SP stacks applications : http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks -> SP stacks download and side-effects report.

You would run into issues if you have add-ons in a system you upgrade this way, but some possibilities do exist.

You can check the information provided here.

https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/sp-stacks

MOPZ is the recommended way to calculate and download the patches.

Hi Benjamin,

I am aware that the official documentation suggests using SolMan.

However, in my scenario only PO is available.

The question would be whether download + patching can be performed w/o SolMan.

thanks, regards

Hello Vincenzo

The quick answer is NO. Solution Manager is required for all maintenance activities. As far as I know SAP will help only if you raise an OSS message to approve the download basket.

You can raise an OSS message to SV-SMG-MAI-APR and see if they can help you.

So here is the official answer.

Maintenance Optimizer FAQ - Solution Manager - SCN Wiki

You can check points 2, 3 and 4 and probably can confirm this.
