Illegal access to the viewer & File System Corruption

Hi Everyone

We're on Business Objects 4.1 SP1. There are 30 Named User Licenses and 0 Concurrent user licenses. When the end users (Named User) tried to refresh a report on the WebI portal, they got the following error:

Illegal access to the viewer. Please use a valid URL

When I tried to refresh using Administrator Access, I got the same error. When I checked the status of the WebI processing server, it was DOWN. On the event viewer, there were several errors recorded, all of them had similar description:

Failed to determine status information of file/directory C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\xxxxxx-BO.tba.local_6400\xxxxxx_BO.WebIntelligenceProcessingServer\sessions\_ARmshuPVWTtGvlBZHkP1BG4\P0pi12800KT1704{xxxxxx-BO.tba.local}{xxxxxx_BO.WebIntelligenceProcessingServer}{ARmshuPVWTtGvlBZHkP1BG4}.tmp from the file system. Please check for file system corruption, permissions and sharing violation

Yesterday, we had the same error, and also the WebI service was down. Once I restarted it, it worked fine yesterday. Today we again have the same issue.

Additionally, in the CMC settings tab, I can see the message: 2 unlicensed user(s) are logged on. You must purchase additional licenses. against the CONCURRENT users section. All the end users are configured as "Named Users" and at the time of the error, there were only 2 users logged on. There were enough number of licenses.

So, I went to the Administrator Properties, and saw that the ADMINISTRATOR account is set as "CONCURRENT USER". Can this be changed to NAMED user?

Also, how to prevent the other bigger error mentioned above. Any thoughts please?

Regards

DE

Hi DE,

For the Webi issue, you might want to check SAP Kb #  1773822 and  1902044.

For the license issue, by default Administrator and Guest account are Concurrent. So, you could ignore the warning or change them to “Named Users”.

Thanks I will check the note numbers.

When I did a search earlier, I couldn't get to the exact notes that I was looking for. This is helpful. Thank you..
