COPAC_XXXX archiving object real time work

Former Member

Hello ,

has any one worked on implementing the COPAC_xxxx archiving object?

Please do not provide SAP help, OSS notes or other documentation on tables etc.

I am looking for real time project implementation work done around this archive object.

Ex: what requirements to capture with process/functional teams to implement this object.

the assumption here is that , we need to identify unused profitability segments and archive them .

there is a program " RKREOCE4_EXTRACT" to first deactivate the unused profitability segments .

please provide only real time situations that some one has worked on this object.

Thanks in Advance,

Satya

Hi Satya,

We ran this archiving object for different clients. I have different exp in the projects

1) As the restriction on yearly basis is not existed, recently created and not used profitability segments also got archived. Hence reloaded the data back to the tables. Business was not ready to go ahead with this AO later.

2) Created the custom report as in SAP Note 571189, and ran the archiving without any issues.

Is there anything wrong in SCN or do you by intention remove the checkmark for question when you create a new thread?

oh so people are not motivated unless some points are awarded.

maybe the check option should not available at all in the first place

See, there can be discussions where there is no right or wrong answer. There can be announcements. These should not be posted as questions then.

It is not about the points, but only questions can be marked solved, no matter if this is done with assumed answered (which does not give points) or with a correct answer.

The checkmark is defaulted for the other 99%, but you removed it.

I was just curious if there is a technical problem with you, as well as wanting to inform you that the chances to get replies are higher if it is marked as question. Since in some forums basic questions get unmarked as question to discourage answering basic questions.

Thanks Jurgen. the reason I marked for an open discussion or debate is , that there are few points to brainstorm about, but there are no specific questions that are being asked,

in addition to gain knowledge from someone who has worked on the particular task.

ex: in this case COPAC_xxxx archiving.

when it comes to me, I already have done a good amount of background work on this subject whether it is SAP help, OSS notes etc.

as part of next steps ,I come to SCN to generally find posts where someone came across the same challenges / situations that I had and of course in some cases the answers were already there as in this case ..

http://scn.sap.com/thread/804800

random thoughts...

I think SCN should be a place where people should share actual project work experiences (of course protecting the client's confidentiality).

Next time will leave the Check mark

I think many people who have work experience and reply to discussions are really sharing their experience in their answers. They have no reason to beat around the bush. If you read attentively the replies then you can see who is talking experience or just sharing theory.

The blogs and documents should be used to share proactive the experience. I would love to see more blogs about real projects too, instead of help.sap.com write ups.

However, it is not easy to write such blogs, to fit the experience of a 50 days archiving project into  3 page blog.  Talking about all the obstacles from the beginning to the end may be nice to share but probably not be well-received by the company of the poster.

I have it in on my personal agenda, but instead of archiving I am busy with several data migration projects. And a colleague is doing archiving. Knocks at least 3 times a day at my door to ask for help. Maybe even this story will be worth a blog. While everyone is thinking that everything is well organized in the big companies, it is in reality done in passing.

Your question: what requirements to capture with process/functional teams to implement this object.

is  actually the  result of one or more team meetings between the technical  and the functional folks.

I hope we can get a collection at the end from contribution of several people here, but I would have difficulties if I post my complete project results of those meetings 1:1  in a public forum.

Let me mention the

to include the people who follow the FICO forum to this question. I further tagged your discussion to get it into the related content section of the FICO space.
