MDG on own server

Hi everyone!

We try to start a new project which include MDG and HANA.

So, we will deploy MDG as a standalone system on own server. And we have a couple questions. I hope that you can help us, guys:

1. When we deploy MDG on top of an opertional ERP we have 4 configured scenarios (MDG-S, MDG-C, MDG-F, MDG-M). What we have in case of standalone system on own server?

2. By what technology we can connect MDG and databases of ERP or HANA?

3. Maybe, do you know where configuration guide for MDG (as a standalone system) exists?

Thank you for your time and help!

Anton

Thank you for your help, Sanjay!

Your answer about ECC was very helpfull for us.

And we've decided to Hub-deployment MDG, but another question raised:

We have server with HANA, 20+ different ERP systems and Hub-deployment MDG on own server. So, we need to get data from HANA, through MDG Hub to ERP and backwards from ERP to HANA. Is it possible(MDG like a buffer zone)?

If MDG will be on own server, how users can get an access from ERPs? It will be like Enterprise Portal?

Hi Anton

Yes it is possible with Value and key mapping if you are different data in each clients from MDG server.

MDG can be accessable by SAP Net Weaver Business Client or SAP enterprise portal also.

Hi Anton

My reply as below

1. When we deploy MDG on top of an opertional ERP we have 4 configured scenarios (MDG-S, MDG-C, MDG-F, MDG-M). What we have in case of standalone system on own server?

Same (All four scnarios)

2. By what technology we can connect MDG and databases of ERP or HANA?

If your MDG hub with HANA database also then we can connect it by ALE setting or by SOA (Service Origented Artichecture)

3. Maybe, do you know where configuration guide for MDG (as a standalone system) exists?

Please refer Customizing Synchronization between MDG and ERP (Guide

Hello, Sanjay!

Thank you for your answer!

Am i right that when we deploy MDG as a standalone system on own server also we need to instal ECC?

Is it possible without ECC?

Hi Amit

MDG hub in nothing but ECC server only with activations of MDG Releveant business functions.

This is the reason deployment options as hub(Standalone) mode or co deployment mode is possible for MDG.

If you want to use MDG hub also it is on ECC server and and you can send your MDG hum master data into Targety system which is may or may not  be ECC system.

Hope this clarify your question.
