Precalculation server

Hi All,

We would like to use the broadcaster.if we want to broadcast query its required for pre-calculation server.

My Questions is do we need require separate licence for this pre-calculation serve procuct ?

did you try to call the broadcaster from Bex analyzer  or Bex Query Designer?
yes Precalulation server and broadcaster is free.

Hi Mohan, For broad casting any query pre-calculation server is not required . You can directly broad cast query and you can schedule the broad casting . Regards, Rajagopal.

Hi Mohan, there is no need to set up precalculation server for broadcasting Bex Query.
Pre calculation server is mainly used for broadcasting  workbooks. I did the set up as well few days back.
If you need to broad cast queries,
from Bex Query Analyzer-->tools--> launch Broadcaster
Redirecting into portal  you can create bex Broadcast setting for that query.

In Bex Query Designer as well you can call the broadcaster.
open the query you want to broadcast in Query Designer--> Publish--> Broadcaster
It will take you to the portal as described before.

then  you must be interested for setting up Pre-calculation server

Okay so you need to check on which version of SAP BI/BW you are on now.

Precalculation server comes as an addon for SAP 7.3GUI which you need to download from SAP service market place.

PLease follow the link. I am also giving  you the link of configuring the precalculation server.

Its free..
you just need your S user Id. Your company must use one S id  so you can use that.
patch and addons are almost always free.
