Receive Consignment Pick-up into Blocked

Former Member

Hi Guru

I’m seeking how to change the stock type of consignment pick-up from current “Unrestricted”
to “Blocked” without changing Availability checking rule.

Current conditions are as below.

Sales document type: KA (Consignment Pick-up)

Returned item category: KAN

Once I changed the movement type of the schedule line used in this item category from
632 to 657, but this movement type 657 impacted changing Availability check rule, too.

So please teach me what should I do for changing stock type as “Blocked” on
consignment pick-up but not change the Availability check rule.

Thanks

Yuich

Consignment pick up is nothing but the delivering plant is taking back the goods from another storage location.  This being the case, why you want to post as a Blocked stock?

Hi Mr,Lakshmipathi

As client requirement, once put them into blockd after goods receiving, and then check the quality and move to unrestrected if acceptable.

Setup a quality inspection after return delivery from consignment pick up - you can create a new quality inspection type Z11 (10 is the SAP standard inspection type for Inspection during outbound delivery) and assign it to the material. After the usage decision is done , you can setup a quality notification to automatically move the stock into blocked stock.

t-code ovz9 might help you.

In this IMG step, you define checking rules for the availability check and allocate them to a checking group.

The checking rule specifies the scope of the availability check for the respective transactions in sales and distribution by specifying precisely which stocks, receipt and issue elements should be taken into account during the availability check.

Every checking rule is allocated to a checking group: together these two elements determine the final inspection requirements. In addition, the checking rule includes a specification whether or not an availability check should take into account the replenishment lead time.

Currently, the checking rule is predefined in SD.

When specifying the inspection scope for a certain checking rule, you can currently select the following receipts and issues:

  • purchase orders
  • production orders
  • purchase requisitions
  • planned orders
  • dependent requirements
  • reservations
  • dependent reservations
  • sales requirements
  • delivery requirements

SD requirements (= sales requirements and delivery requirements) reduce an available stock or inward stock movement on the material availability date so that other issues cannot access the reserved quantity.

When specifying the inspection scope for a certain check rule, you can currently select the following stock elements:

  • Safety stock (to be maintained in material master record, MRP data)
  • Stock in transfer in the receiving plant
  • Stock in quality inspection
  • Blocked stock

Hi Deniz

Thanks for your replying.

Sorry but current problem is as below;

Originaly for consignment pick up, its schedule line's movement type was 632, and availability check on sales document creatioin was "AW"(SD order; consignment), but now I changed the movement type from 632 to 657 because it is needed to change the stock type of consignment pick up to "Blocked". But due to this change, the availability check was also changed to "A"(SD order).

So what I want to do is to change the stock type of consignment pick up from "unrestrected" to "blocked", but keep the availability check as "AW".

Hi Yuichi

"AW" and "A" are not availability checks - they are checking rules.

Where in the sales document can you see that they are changing? I am asking because usually in the sales documents I only see the availability check (for example: 01 - Daily requirements, 02 - Individ.requirements) - there is no checking rule ("AW" and "A" ).

Can you send screenshots?

Hi Deniz

Please kindly reffer current problem's screen shots.

Below one is a part of sales document of consignment pick-up.

Check rule is "AW" with movement type 632 of schedule line of consignment pick up.

And then, if change the movement type to 657 for changing stock status to Blocked, the checking rule changed to "A".

But I'd like to keep this check rule as "AW" even though movement type is 657.

Please gime your help, thank you in advance.

Hello Yuichi,

I understand your "problem" - the checking rule is changing when using another movement type. I am afraid that this behavior cannot be impacted via customizing. I am almost sure that the checking rule is detemined internally by some SAP standard logic in programs which makes different checks...

One of the sentences in SAP Docs says: In Sales and Distribution, the checking rule is specified internally within the system and cannot be changed! This indicates that the checking rule is something managed internally by SAP...

In this forum there are similar requests - almost all of them are doing following (option 1 is the best way - option 2 is what you are trying but doesn`t work due to the checking rule):

This is also something which could be interesting to know:

And this is for me the most meaningful conversation for this topic:
