APO PPDS - interactive change of shelf life in planned orders

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find a possibility to change the shelf life day in planned orders in APO PPDS. The shelf life planning is active in product master, where the shelf life data is maintained. The issue is that often have to pre-produce and put the produced quantities on storage under minus 25 degrees so the quality remains for even longer than a year, which means produce sometime months ahead before the requirements come in. the shelf life of the batches is then of course expired as we normally have around 50 days of shelf life. Therefore the production planning requires that they can change manually the shelf life day in planned orders in APO PPDS.

By now I could not find any heuristic / algorithm or user exit / BADI that would solve the problem.

we are using APO 7.03

Hi Rorie,

yes, I read about that heuristic but I need the possibility to change the min. shelf life day interactively in the planned order if I produce much earlier against a reguired delivery day with certain min. shelf life. That means that for every order, depending on the reguired delivery day and min. shelf life, if I produce 4  or 3 months earlier and have 50 days of SL in product master, I need to change the shelf life day (expiration date) in the planned order manually.

I would need to make the shelf life field in product view changeable to enable manual overwirting of the shelf life in the planned order that comes from the product master. something like this I think would solve the issue
