AS Netweaver Java usage types

Hello Friends,

Please guide me on the below query, need some info on the usage type selection when installing ADS on AS Java, I have selected the below usage types for processing of Adobe forms on existing ABAP stack which will use the ADS(yet to be installed and configured) on the Java stack, please let me know the description of each usage types and will the below usage types do good for ADS installation and configuration.

I have taken a look into the Master guide also based on which have selected the below.

I just need to use the ADS service on Java to design and view Adobe forms on ABAP stack which is the requirement.

The ones selected by you should be fine.

The required components are mentioned in the page 46 of the Master Guide.

Hi Balaji,

If you are installed newer version of Netweaver JAVA for ADS only, then select AS Java and ADS from above screen.

If you want to install ADS on existing system -

1st got systemingo page and look for installed components, If you can find, then goto step 3

2nd Install usgae type ADS, 1793486 - Installing Add. Usage Types on Existing SAP System-Using SUM

3rd Configure ADS

For usage types - Refer Master/Installation guides

Hi

if you just need to configure ADS

then please only select Application server Java , AS java extensions , Adobe Document services

this will suffice your need for ADS configuration in JAVA and for abap you can make one RFC in ABAP system via ADS (Configtool) and your work is done .

Thank you Dishant.Can you let me know the need of selecting AS java extension usage type?

I am quite not clear about the importance of other usage types too I checked in Master guide the ones which I have selected looked relevant..

Hi

ADS is not basically SAP java product so any product which is not Core java should be installed with AS-java extensions.
