Unable to retrieve data from webi launch pad but report works fine in rich client tool

Hi All,

I have a report in BO stage instance where in the report do not get refreshed at all when i try to refresh using webi launch pad , however the same report when i try using webi rich client tool the report is getting refreshed within 10 min.

Also the same report in BO prod instance works fine in both launch pad and rich client tool.

I have also checked the universe level Query execution time and max row retrival values are same yet this issue persist.

Can anyone assist what could be the cause for such behavior ?

    are both staging and prod environments on same BO version?

    what is the error message if report is not refreshing?

    what about if you schedule the report?

    try with purge the data or save report in structure mode and refresh again

      Yes both BO versions are same and also I have pointed both BO instance to prod DB for this validation.

      - Prod BO instance with DB pointed to prod is fetching result in both launch pad and rich client

      - Stg BO instance with DB pointed to prod is fetching result only in rich client and NOT in Launch pad.

      what is the error message if report is not refreshing?

      I'm getting the below error once the query takes longer time and ends up with below error msg.

      This option will not give a long term fix as users wont prefer it.

      try with purge the data or save report in structure mode and refresh again

      Tried both . but no luck

    Niki,

    Have you confirmed that 64bit ODBC connections with the same System DSN name has been created on all the BI 4.x servers. The servers require 64bit ODBC connection while the rich-client require 32bit ODBC connection with the exact same system DSN name.

    usually, if report refreshes in rich client , but not from bilaunchpad - it means that server side doesn't have required DB connectivity or Webi processing server is not running.

    That is why it is important to know the error message received and exact details of what happens when you refreshing it.

    • this means your stage webi processing server is either not running or crashing or doesn't exist....
      Basically, the health of your BOE server in stage is not good. And someone needs to investigate it.

    Hi, Experts, same kind of issue is at my end as well.

    Note : My report has a string data type column call "Fund names ", there are 12 fund names which are from SQL view and it is coming up to Information design Universe layer to Webi Rich client except Launchpad.

    that means after designing the report on the rich client and open and refresh the report on Launchpad it's showing only 11 Fund names.

    one row(12th fund name) is missing

    initially report was developed with 11 fund names and next day 12th fund was added, anyway its coming in webi rich client.

    you may ask have I check the DB table or view, we have checked everything properly.

    anyone had came across this kind of issue?
