<sidadm> doesn't start oracle database after oracl...

Hello gurus,

I upgraded oracle 10.2 to 11.3g on a SAP ECC runing on HP-UX.

After that, the user <sidadm> is not able to start database and sap.

When I do startsap it returns the following message.

/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/startdb: Terminating with error code 12

DB startup failed.

Can you please help me.

Check oracle_home and in listner.ora.

I have checked the listener.ora. The oracle_home is there.

HI Ernesto,

Two options -

1st goto orasid and start your database -

sqlplus / as sysdba

shutdown immediate

startup

Now goto sidadm and startsap

2nd -

goto orasid and start your database -

sqlplus / as sysdba

shutdown immediate

Now goto sidadm and startsap

In both cases startdb.log is generated, share it with us.

Also your kernel version.

What is the output of R3trans -d ?

Have you modified the environment variable of the sidadm and orasid users with the new values ?

Are you using the new version of the Oracle instant client ?
