How a Dashboard PDF will work?

Hi All,

I want to know how the Dashboard PDF will work, there won't be any connection to the XLF after saving the dashboard as PDF,but then also all the properties which have been included to the dashboard will work fine, what actually happens when we are looking the dashboard PDF?

Hi Ram,

In a PDF, every component are converted to flash components by some flash coding, Now, if you have a flash player installed then only the pdf will work.

Now, when talking about the data, the things are similar to xlf which is converted to Swf. you can assume that a swf file is inserted in a pdf and what you view is a pdf.

when a query is connected then it will automatically ask for the username and password and if you have noticed before exporting to a swf or pdf you have to save that xlf copy in CMC folders, so when you enter your credentials actually the one saved in CMC is working for you, but you are interacting with the swf of pdf.

What you see in the pdf is not just the pdf but flash embedded in the pdf and you would need the flash player to view this pdf.Every excel logic and calculations and connections are converted into the flash logic.
