Log Archiving Using TDP is Failing after DB2 Upgrade to 10.5FP3

Hi,

I've recently upgraded DB2 on our SAP sandbox to 10.5.3. Since then, our DB2 log archiving through TSM TDP for SAP has been failing with the error msg (from DB2 Diag file) "MESSAGE : ZRC=0x86100024=-2045771740=SQLP_SHRLIB_VENDOR_DEV_ERR. A vendor device reported a shared library error."

Details of error msg is in the attached file.

Pls note both full online and offline backups are successful, the issue is only with archive log!

Is it related to DB2 upgrade? OR it a TSM issue?

Appreciate any hints.

Thanking you.

Rgds,

Sheikh Saggaf

You  have to to upgrade the tdp_r3 Software to 6.4.x

lower Versions are not supported with  db2 10.5

Hi Sheikh,

FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, data protection services, sqlpgArchiveLogVendor, probe:1860

MESSAGE : ZRC=0x86100024=-2045771740=SQLP_SHRLIB_VENDOR_DEV_ERR

"A vendor device reported a shared library error."

Look in the file /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin/sample/dsmrc.h . RC 186 means you don't have an archive copy group.

#define DSM_RC_TL_NOACG 186 /* Archive req, no archive copy

group *

This is related to TSM configuration rather than DB2.

Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for yr reply.

Could you Pls elaborate in what we need to do exactly? In fact, we already have an archive copy group defined! Also, where did you get RC186 from? I'm not able to locate this rc in the error msg?

Thanking you.

Sheikh
