Couldn't start the A4H instance in BI4.1 BW on HANA Trial

On page 11 of the user guide https://caldocs.hana.ondemand.com/caldocs/help/Exploring%20SAP%20NetWeaver%20BW%20on%20SAP%20HANA%20...

On step 5, to do Action > Start the BW instance, I kept getting the error "cannot connect to SAP Service on abapci.dummy.nodomain" and something about not reaching the RPC service

It is pretty frustrating after waiting 40 minutes for the systems to activate and not get very far.

Any ideas?

Hi Lynn - I haven't tried it for a while.  Maybe someone from the SAPCAL team can reply?  I hope to try it again soon.

Hi Lynn - they usually reply to the discussion forum here; maybe create a new thread and show some screen shots of your issue?

Of course it is the weekend so I would expect to hear from them until next week.

will do.  Thanks Tammy.

One quick question, when you connect to SAP NetWeaver BW remotely to start A4H instance, do you logon with username: demo, password: Welcome!?

Yes, that is what I used (based on my recollection)

Hi Tammy

It works for me now.  I found a post where it advised to restart the instance in Cloud Appliance Library then it works

Hi Tammy,

which "Update/Version" of SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5 incl. SAP Business Objects BI 4.1 SP2 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7 are you running?

You can check that either by on the name of the solution in the SOLUTIONS tab. This is what I see:

If you have an older version or a newer one, it might be best to "Deactivate & Activate the solution to receive the latest update.

Thanks and Regards,

  Hannes

I terminated my instance a while back and haven't restarted.

I will close the thread.
