Hi,
Please help as how the scenario can be captured in the system.
X-------->Y-------->Z,consider these three as organizational units.X is the root Org Unit,Y is the Sub org unit of X and Z is the Sub Org Unit of Y.Now is it possible that employee in Z reports to X head directly and approval are handled by X head only, skipping Y head.
Pls guide me
Regards
Dear SAP,
I think so this cross relationship...!
If it's so this is common business scenario for this what you will have to do is Just go to PP02
2. select there Object ID --> S
3. Select Position No: xxxxxxxxx
4. Relationship --> A002
5. Again select Position --> S

Hi,
The requirement can be controlled in two ways
1. As mentioned by KV - maintain S-S relationship for all the employees reporting to the Org Owner of X. which is then left to the ABAP team to query based on the S-S reporting. OR
2. Don't maintain any S-S relationship and ask the ABAP team to find the parent Org Unit of the Employee Org Unit and assign the Parent Org Unit Owner as approver.
The option 2 will simplify business activity that they don't worry about maintaining S-S reporting and simply left to ABAP code to determine Parent Org Unit owner be the approver at any level.
Thanks,
Narendra Katuri.

If your solution wanted to avoid business activity on S-S maintenance then i suggest to leave it to ABAP team to determine the corresponding approver.
The workflow will be different for handling Travel and Leave approvals. So, they can manage based on your customer needs.
Here i recommend you to think about entire Org Hierarchy and their respective approval paths with your customer and get a confirmation on how the approval needs to happen for those all different scenarios, accordingly you finalise the solution to drive from ABAP team to avoid any future issues.
Thanks,
Narendra Katuri.
Dear Pushyami,
This is called cross relationship, for this you needn't to go with any difference relationship just maintain the same "report to" but it depend on selection i mean
1. Go to PP02.
2. Select Position.
3. Select relationship (report to)
4. Select anther position (to whom report to)
That's all for more clarification feel free to catch me where I've mentioned my contact details.

you are confused.
root org --> X
sub org. unit is --> Y
Sub org. unit is --> Z
here level 1 is X
level 2 is Y
level 3 is Z.
if the X head is also head for the Y & Z.
can you come up with clear requirement.

Ok let me make it more clear. Group MD is the Head of group of companies.Let me take one company that is X.Company X has a Company Head,and he reports to Group MD.Under Company X,there are two Org Units Y and Z along with heads in each.
Group MD
|
Company X
|
Y Z
Generally Y head reports to X head which can be captured in the system.But if Y head reports to Group MD directly,skipping Company X head. Is this achievable
Pls let me know if im not clear..
