Hi All bwers.
I'm using the BI content infocube: Staff Assignment (0PAOS_C01). In the cube, there's an infoobject Personnel Area (0PERS_AREA), and Personnel Subarea (0PERS_SAREA).
In the infocube update rules, both 0PERS_AREA and 0PERS_SAREA are master data attributes of 0EMPLOYEE.
The problem now, after loading data from R/3, in the infocube, 0EMPLOYEE is populated, but 0PERS_AREA and 0PERS_SAREA is left blank.
I lookup the master data table of 0EMPLOYEE, and yes, both 0PERS_AREA and 0PERS_SAREA is populated with values there.
So, how do I extract 0PERS_AREA and 0PERS_SAREA in the master data to the infocube?
p.s - After further checking, not only 0PERS_AREA but any other attributes that uses the update rules "Master data attribute of 0EMPLOYEE" won't have any values in the infocube, but there are values if you lookup the master data table 0EMPLOYEE.
hi,
make sure you have done 'attribute/hierarchy change run' after loading 0employee.
transaction rsatrr or
rsa1 >> tools >> apply attribute/hierarchy change run

Hi,
<i>The problem now, after loading data from R/3, in the infocube, 0EMPLOYEE is populated, but 0PERS_AREA and 0PERS_SAREA is left blank.</i>
If you are using PSA in between Cube and R/3 ,Delete the request from Cube. And then reload the request from PSA.
The help about this cube says:
<i>In the update rules, numerous fields are read from the master data tables at the end of the period (usually the last day of the month) and written to the InfoCube as characteristics. Therefore, you must ensure that master data is loaded and activated before the InfoSources.</i>
Therefore, you must ensure that master data is loaded and activated before the data population to cube.
With rgds,
