NW 7.4 - Restoring default UME datasource

Hi ,

I want to disconnect LDAP datasource for the time being for NW 7.4 system and switch back to default UME datasource.

But I am not sure/dont  find the datasource xml file for NW 7.4 system.in the datasource tab of UME

What is exact name of the default  xml file.

Is there any way to restore to default XML file for the data source?

Will appreciate your help and guidance

Changes are done from:

Goto useradmin and then change the configuration to  data source. Login with Administrator user which should be of UME and make the changes.

However: Can this be done ?

what has to be done exactly.

Hi Daniel,

Did you check my last post ?

Such a change is not supported due to the same reasons mentioned earlier. SAP has not tested any scenario where such a change has been made and cannot guarantee that the system will operate 100% correctly after changing the datasource – it is not officially supported.

If your system is a new system in which LDAP source has not made any changes to your JAVA stack, you can go for a restore. However, that is rarely a case. So, in short you cannot do it. If you want to do, method is given above and it's on your own risk.

Hi Daniel,

If you will raise this with SAP, then will say NO because that is not recommended.

However, as asked before, if this is a new installation and nothing much has been done on your system from LDAP point of view, you can try to change the UME source.

I would like to connect back to the LDAP..after creating user in UME database.

so the switch back is possible?

I believe, you can create a user in UME database with ldap connect.
