business area

Hello experts,

For PL reporting at Business area level, should I extract from CO or FIGL datasources?

I also need to report by segment, internal / external business level. Where can these information come from? Does a Business area contain all these info? What are financial statement items?

Thanks for the link. Points awarded for your help.

I'm only doing for P&L no BS. I am not sure what infoobject to use for some of the customer's unique requirements like reporting by business segment / type of business. I found a few objects from contents that are described as 'segment' by which should I use? Customize a new infoobject?
