R/3 Purchasing - GTS integration

Hi all,

Please clarify the below points regarding to Purchasing - GTS integration.

1. When BADI's are enabled (MM0A, MM0B, MM0C) are there any tables related to GTS gets activated in ECC

2. Does the Purchase Order screen (ME21N) have any new tabs populated either at the header level and the item level

3. How does R/3 Store the GTS results ( GTS checks Passed, or blocked in SAP R/3) and where is it visible. Is it at transaction level or table level.

Regards,

Satya

Hi Satya,

  1. No tables are activated in the ERP system for GTS transfer.
  2. No additional tabs are shown or populated when GTS is in use.
  3. As far as I know (and others may correct me), the GTS results are not stored in the ERP system.  Subsequent MM functions call GTS to determine the Purchase Order status before allowing or disallowing the function.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your inputs.

How can i know whether the PO has undergone the GTS checks in ERP system. I'm still confused how does R/3 System say that the PO has blocked/Passed.

May be can we store the PO's undergoing through GTS and their status in a custom table.

Can you please elaborate on

"Subsequent MM functions call GTS to determine the Purchase Order status before allowing or disallowing the function."

i assume there will be a return message from GTS when you use any function, Please correct me if im wrong.

Hi Satya,

Your questions are interesting, but I cannot yet understand what problem(s) you are trying to solve.

From the ERP system, you cannot tell that a P.O. has undergone GTS compliance checks, unless one of those checks has failed - in that case, you get a protocol log during saving.  That log is returned from GTS after the checks have been carried out, in response to the call.

You can be sure that GTS has carried out the checks, because you have configured the system to do so, and tested it to make sure that it does.  You shouldn't need any day-to-day assurance on that point.

The check for subsequent functions is generally made with Function Module /SAPSLL/CD_STATUS_GET.  I'm not sure what additional elaboration you have in mind.

Hope that helps.

Hi Dave,

I'm very raw at my knowledge in GTS. So, my questions are naive, I'm really sorry about that.

In SO, we can see the incompletion log at the Header level and say that the SO is blocked by GTS if it fails the checks. I was under the impression that we may have something similar to incompletion log (Ofcourse to my knowledge PO doesn't have any incompletion log).

Your explanation gave me a better picture how GTS integrates with PO. I'll be digging deeper thank you for your time.
