Are SID tables created only if an object has navigational attributes, or is it created when an object has attributes in general or am I off the track totally? Thanks

Hi Niten,

SIDs would be created for a characteristic whenever you load it. Additionally if the master data is not loaded and the info-object is part of the transaction data of a cube even then SIDs would be created.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,

well the sid-tables are created as I already mentioned. The sids itself will be created whenever you load data to the infoobject itself or into a data target that is enabled for reporting.

Hi I had a situation where for one info object an SID was created for a Characteristic Value of '#####' which is actually not a valid value. And this value is causing an ABAP Dump in a authorization variable with * authorizations. I needed some info about whether we get a where used list of a particular SID value ? [ So that I could delete that SID value without causing some trouble]

Hi,

A sid (s) table is created with every characteristic. Additionally if a characteristic has navigational attributes a new sid (x) table will be created that contains the sid of the nav. attributes.

You can check the (s)-table in the infoobject maintenance on the first tab and the (x)-table on the tab 'master data/texts'.

hi,

SID tables created if an infoobject has 'master data', transaction rsd1 'master data/text', 'with master data' is marked. there will be S table, e.g /BIC/S[infoobject name] for customized object and non time-dependent.

Hi,

SIDs are created when an object has attributes. The navigational attributes will have it's own SID table. If you make a tick mark for that navigational attribute in IC maintanace screen, the SID table of Navigation used directly.
