Hi Experts,

I have created dashboard using .unx(IDT universe) and connection as Query browser.

Exported Dashboard as .swf and opened .swf file with browser its asking me credentials.

My requirement is after exporting dashboard for one date data should saved in .swf file itself.(i.e I don't want to connect and fetch data).

Note:Version I am using SAP DASHBOARD 4.0, SP6

Thank you

Regards

MAHANTESH

Hi Neha/Sunil,

Hi Mhantesh,

Have you tried taking excel snapshot and importing this excel in dashboard.

I think this should serve your purpose.

Let us know your observations after trying this.

Abhilash,

I am able to take excel snapshot and importing same excel in Dashboard is working fine.

Thanks.

But still I am searching for other options which can reduce my work.

Thanks

Hi Mahantesh,

What I would do is I would create a WebI report and publish the block in the block as a web service. I would either schedule the report daily or manually and consume the web service in Xcelsius.

This is faster then using Query Browser queries and you won't have to go to database every time to fetch data. However, bear in mind that the user needs access to this web service through your network.

There is no offline capability in Xcelsius. If you need that, you need to update your excel sheet periodically as you are required as Abhilasha stated.

If I were you, I would have use the WebI web services for this requirement.

Have a nice day.

Hi MAHANTESH,

Just to share with you, in my case we are using BO 4.1 and dashboard with qwass. while right click the dashboard and choosing the option 'Save Current Copy of Dashboard to local disk'. i am successfuly save the dashboard in offline mode and able to access the data as well.

even the same thing is possible in to open the dashboard in tablets also (offline mode).

Thanks

Hi Mahantesh,

The option Sunil had suggested is available in 4.1. And to save the local copy first you need to enable "Offline Dashboard Support" option under Dashboards Designer -> File -> Document Properties.

If you export the dashboard to BI Platform with the above option. You will get the below option on right clicking the SWF.

Thanks,

Hi Mahantesh,

As suggested by Abhilasha, you could save data in the Excel and use the dashboard as a static dashboard.

Another method would be you could use Live office connection.

The live office is created in the excel itself, this way you could create a connection in the Excel .

Import the Excel and use it in the dashboard and map the component.

Whenever needed to refresh the data you could export the excel and refresh in the Excel.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mhantesh,

Dashboard does not have this option like the webi and CR reports.

These connections are used for live data.

However what you could try is :

Preview your dashboard -> Go to File and take snapshot -> Excel

Now the excel sheet will be saved.

You could import this excel file as this will have data.

But later on if you don't want to refresh make the refresh options in Usage tab is not set.

Hope this helps you.
