schedule a Webi report from the CMC

Hi, ALL

Is there a way to schedule a Webi report from the CMC without using an email account in the
'from' box? There are other placeholders that can be used but I don't know how
to use them please advise.

Hermant,

        You can put anything in the FROM field, it does NOT have to be a valid email.   You just need a place holder.   The only thing is making sure the email server settings are correct.

Ok say the client requests a name such as " BI Report' will it work or do I put 'bireports@client.com' - this is succeful in the CMC but dose not come to the recipients email - it may be that outgoing email from unknown addresses are blocked by the postmaster.

      You can even put  BIReports@BI4.com or BIReports@myserver.com  or BIReport@anything.com

Anything with email type format will work.   You only need to put a valid email if you want users to reply to the email address and the email address is being managed.

Ajay,

Tried that, in the CMC the status is ‘success’ but it does
not deliver to my email.

What could be the reason for this?

Hermant,

      You need to make sure you configure the proper email server.   Go to the CMC - Server > AdaptiveJobServer>Destination>Email.  You may need to enable Email as one of the Destinations.

You must configure all the HIGHLIGHTED options.

After you follow Ajay's suggestion, can you aslo check see if your BO server is talking to Email server?
