SAP_MDM connection error

Hi All,

I am trying to integrate SRM MDM Catalog into Portal.

We installed the following files on Portal.

BP_MDM_APP 7.1 SP 12

BP_MDM_TECH 7.1 SP 12

BP_SRM_MDM 7 SP 12

MDM_CONNECTOR 7.1 SP 11

MDM_EP 7 SP 12

MDM_JAVA_API 7.1 SP 11

SRM_MDM_CAT 7 SP05

1. I copied the MDM_Catalog system object (template) from SAP content into our custom folder and gave all the MDM Server/ Repository info in the System properties and defined the alias SAP_MDM.

2. When I try to Test the connection, I get the following error.

No connection to system MDM Catalog found:
while trying to invoke the method com.sap.mdm.session.NetWeaverMdmDestinationProperties.getServerName() of a null object loaded from local variable 'destination'

Any pointers on what's missing?

3. When I looked into SAP Notes/ SCN forums on this issue, came across the MDM Destination tool. I tried to launch the MDM destination tool using the http://<portal host>:<port>/mdm/destinations, but I get an error saying the page is not found.

Do you know why I am not able to find the MDM Destination tool?

4. And do we need to maintain an entry in the mdm destinations to fix my SAP_MDM Connection error? We don't have custom applications, just MDM Catalog integration.

Please advise.

Thank you.
