PI app servers?

We are currently running PI on NW 7.31 and instead of adding additional memory/cpu to the existing VM, we would like to expand out and create app servers. Is this possible? If so, any additional configuration required within PI to accomplish this (i.e. logon groups, etc.)?

Thanks,

Setu

This document talks about PI running on NW 7.1 and dual stack systems. Our PI system runs on NW 7.31 only has a JAVA stack, how does that change this scenario?

Hi

If i understood correctly your requirement is have an additional app server for Java only stack? If that so then you can install the same with the help of Installation tool and select additional java application server over there.

That is correct, however how does that work with a PI system? Are there logon groups or do we have to use a load balancer to distribute the connections? Does it require reconfiguration of the central instance or any integration scenarios already defined?

for java stack only the load wikl be balanced by the  scs service. You can still install the web dispatcher if needed for the further functionality of a single URL and load balancing.

just take care of the filesystem in case cpnfigured specially for any particular flows on ci. Similar would be required on the new app server as well.
