Integrate External SAPUI5 Applications into Cloud Portal

Hi all,

currently i am playing around with the SAP Cloud Portal Service from HCP. As I know we are able to add applications which either are hosted on HCP directly or by any on-premise system via cloud connector. It is possible to call SAPUI5 applications from external servers in the internet within the Fiori Launchpad?

If I put the full HTTP link into URL for SAPUI5 App, the Launchpad is not able to open it.

Full URL should work. Please share what kind of error you get.

What was the test result if you specify the URL http://www.sap.com/index.html ?

Hi Masa,

yes the applications are hosted externally on a HANA XSA instance on-premise.

Hi Manjinder,

I got it. You are looking for additional SAPUI5 on HANA XSA options in Configuring SAP GUI for HTML and Web Dynpro ABAP Apps. I think there is no such option at this stage.

Hi Masa,

i dont want to set the App-Type as URL because in this case the new application will be invoked in a new tab.

My approach is to set up the URL as SAPUI5 App type (please see the screenshot for one dummy configuration). Everytime when the Launchpad want to call the application, it looks for the resource at .../fiori/URL link which is not right. How can archieve this. Maybe to create a new HTTP destination?

Is there any specific reason for not deploying the app on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform?
