Dear Experts,
We are facing an issue during transport of a Bex report.
The RC 16 error has taken place. After I did google; I found this as below, but not the exact steps to solve this:
Return code (16) indicates import is cancelled.
Ex: RC 16 error
1. Import cancelled due to system down while importing.
2. Import cancelled due to user expires whileimporting
3. Import cancelled due to insufficient roles.
Would you please suggest me how to encounter this error, solve the error and successfully transport the Bex Query?
Please help.
Regards, Aparajit
Hi Aparajit,
I think when return code 16 its system issue. You can contact your Basis Team they will help you.
they will re import the same request again.

Dear Ganesh,
Thanks for your help. The person responsible for such transport activities has himself requested me solve this error as he is not a core basis consultant. So I am trying to find the solution for this.
As per your suggestion what i get is I can request him to go for a re transport. Do i need to generate a new request (TR) for that or the same TR will do
Regards,
Aparajit
Hi Aparajit,
The same TR can be imported again if the import had failed.
You can check the logs for your TR in SE01 by drilling down the errorneous step whether some dependent object is missing in target system. But RC 16 is purely a system issue. Take help of Security/Basis team for checking the roles whether system is up all the time while transport.

Hi,
if you are getting RC 16 it is problem with the transportation.
if you get the this error you selected the unwanted the objects.
be aware while collecting the objects select the only necessary objects at transport connection.
Thanks,
Phani.

Yes Pani,
exactly I did that "collecting the objects select the only necessary objects at transport connection."
to avoid unwanted objects to be collected and ending up with this error. Yet the error took place. When re transport was initiated, that was successful. Thank you so much for mentioning these important precautions. I will always take a note of that.

Hi,
I think you can easily understand above 3 points which you stated.
So check about required roles or system was on or ask basis to team to import.
just mail your transport request to basis team, then can do it.
Thanks

Hi Rama,
As always thanks for your guidance.
I have already sent the TR to the person responsible, but he has asked me to solve this as he is getting error while trying to transport.
1. Would you suggest if it is a basis issue or is something wrong from BW side?
2. I haven't checked for roles yet as you suggested. Would you please explain "So check about required roles or system was on or ask basis to team to import.",
Regards!
