BW Reports not opening after Updating Kernel Patch

Hi,.

We have got MCOD System where Java and Abap are installed

After Updating the Kernel from 700 to 720 Patch (600) , SAP and Java both are up and running fine.

But in Java Portal if we click on any report the reports are not opening.

It gives error.

Service cannot be reached

What has happened?

URL http://<hostname>:8000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

Note

• The termination occurred in system <SID> with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
• The selected virtual host was 0 .

What can I do?

• Please select a valid URL.
• If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

ErrorCode:ICF-NF-http-c:000-u:SAPSYS-l:U-i:<host name>-v:0-s:404-r:Notfound

HTTP 404 - Not found

Hi,

File name scs.lst also exist in newkernel.So i dont think we need to copy it from old kernel

What is the BASIS release and the patch level of the system ?

Check if this SAP note is applicable to your system.

1698052 - 'Not found' error page still shows system detail

Hi Amit,

Honestly, I am not sure on this, but was there a file names scs.lst in your old kernel ?

Did you try putting it in your new kernel.

Hi Amit,

Did you add FN_JSTART = jcontrol$(FT_EXE) to all instance profiles ?

Also, goto SMICM -> Goto -> HTTP Plug-In -> Application server -> Display data

Hi,

In Java profile the parameter was added, but not in Abap Profile.

Should i add it

But it is for dual stack and Java only system

5.2 Additional manual changes in Dual-Stack and Java-only systems

This step applies only to releases 7.00 and 7.01.

• Only necessary in case of a Dual-Stack system: you must set the following parameter in the default system profile DEFAULT.PFL:
  system/type = DS
• In all (Dnn, DVEBMGSnn, Jnn, JCnn, etc.) instance profiles, you must set the following parameter:
  FN_JSTART = jcontrol$(FT_EXE)

Please check the following

1) All the JCOs are working fine

2) Test connection to backend BI system is working fine under portal content.

Just to add more points so that you can help more, we try by reverting back the kernel and its working fine i.e the report are opening

What did you do with icmbnd.new ?

can you share icm logs ?

I rename the icmbnd.new to icmbnd.

Do you want the logs of Both abap and java ?

Permission:

chown root:sapsys icmbnd

chmod 4750 icmbnd

Now, since you moved from 700 to 720

check 1636252

and 1989619 - SAP Support Package Stack Kernel 7.20 (EXT) Patch Level 600(if ext)

check ICM parameters

Also, did you try to change the port to 50000 or 8100 in URL ??

Thanks we have taken care of this icm also gone through the note.

We have change the Java Port to 50400 after dual stack split

Can you please tell me where should i change the port .

Just to tell you that before Kernel Upgrade it was working .
