Joins in Crystal Reports

I am having trouble getting the data I need.

I have two tables.

1. Item Location table that has every item that is in a warehouse, both active and inactive items.

2. History table that contains all Issues of items, Transfers and Receipts ect...

I want to see ALL items from the Location table and if the item is in the History table I want to see that data. I just can not get the JOINS to work.

I appreciate any help.

    In the Database Expert, link FROM the location table TO the history table. Right-click on the link, select "Link Options", and make this a "Left Outer" join.

    This will set up the link correctly. However, if you're using any fields from the History table in the Select Expert, you'll need to do something like this:

    (IsNull({History.ItemID}) or

    (

    <filters using the history table>

    )

    )

    Note the parentheses I used and also that the check for null MUST come before the check for other criteria (that's the way null works...)
