Requirements while installing patch

HI Exports,

                              I am using sap Bo 3.1 sp3   ..Now we are planning to install sp7 patch . .

        My Queris:

                        . Before installing ,we need to follow any  steps.like(Need to install sp3 or sp4)

                              . How to install patch and after installing we are going face any issues  ?

                               . IF we are facing any ,issues how to over  come this issues 

Requirement:

                               .  Could any one share some documents and links

Hi Raghu,

It'd be best to go through the upgrade documentation as Henry has already suggested.

Find more at SAP Help Portal.

You can jump 1 SP level while upgrading at max for XI 3.1.

For example you can go from SP3 to SP4 or SP5, but not SP3 to SP6 directly.

So for SP3 to SP6 follow:

SP3 -> SP4 -> SP6

OR

SP3 -> SP5 -> SP6

There can be only 1 SP level in between your current and intended version.

Its hard to advise on how to overcome issues before they're faced

You may be able to get an answer by posting on these SCN forums.

You could also try out XSEARCH to look for KBAs/documents by searching on the nature of the issue/error.

You can also raise an incident with SAP Product Support if you're unable to figure out the next steps or overcome the errors.
