Assignment details in RRI

Greetings!

i created RRI, jump target is Bex query. I assigned for one infoobject,selection conditions as well. after i saved that i ran that query and i selected that particular infoobject it is jumping to the particular query. My problem is even i selected another characteristic also it is jumping to the target query.Any one please guide me where i did mistake. And in the Assignment settings tab there is a check box for Required entry. what is the purpose of this checkbox?
