Hi,
My client is using SAP BOE to upload crystal reports, publish them and schedule them.
It was working successfully until now ...
Our problem : BOE/BI and BOE/CMC are not responding (Server not found or stoped ... FWM 01003 ...), we have been seeking why and we have found that a lot of CFS file were created.
CFS files are in the folder : D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\PlatformSearchData\Lucene Index Engine\index (or : D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost\BOE\proxytemp\PlatformServices , I'm trying to get confirmation from my system admin).
Well, those CFS files seem to be our problem ... It take huge amount of space, it are created when nothing is schedul and no one is on the platform ...
- What are those files ?
- How are those files created ?
- Why ... ?
How can we proceed to solve it ?
Thank for you help,
Eric.
Hi Eric,
You might have possibly set the plaform search application to continuous crawling, as a result of which the .cfs files are continuosly getting created.
Following might be of help ---

work?

That link doesn't work for me, but this one does.

Hi Noel,
I'm gonna show you what I have done on CMC, see it below, I hope it will help you.
In the CMC, Applications/Platform Search Application/Properties, I stoped Indexation :
After that, I deleted all cfs files that were taking so much space on my VM.
In my case, I don't need to do any search on my BI platform ...
Regards,
Eric.
I did stop the continuous indexing. I just didn't know if it was safe to manually delete the .cfs files.
Thanks,
Noel
Hi Eric,
The .CFS files located under D:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\PlatformSearchData are files used by Lucene, a text search engine that is used by the Platform Search Service of your Adaptive Processing server for Indexing.
Check the attached link for more information on this issue:
Hope this helps.

Those are platform search related items, indexes.
You need to adjust indexing dept in CMC.
See KBA 1640934 - How to safely use Platform Search Service in BI 4.0 without overloading the server?
