There is no generic / built-in functionality in either NWBC version. That said what applications are you using? There is application specific Input History support in Web Dynpro for ABAP assuming 1) your system is recent enough and 2) it is enabled.
I have tried earlier enabling WDENABLEFIELDHISTORY parameter as per the link provided by you, but it is not working. User need prompting of history values of any field, when he try to do entries for a field.
Is there anyway to achieve this? Is it possible to achieve this.
