Upgrade question

Quick questions please

1) Can i upgrade JVM to the latest patch even before I start generating stack for the upgrade. The SUM guide mentions installing JVM and I would assume this is for the conversion. There is no recommendation in the SUM guide for patching to latest levels before the update/upgrade. Any suggestions here.

2) SUM needs Java 1.6 as per the SUM guide. Is SUM downward compatible at all. I mean SAP is using SAPJVM so we did not want to upgrade our java unless needed. Any ideas here.

3) For incremental conversion SUM states that if we end up doing a reset, the conversions we started in ICNV wont be reversed and need to be dealt with manually. How does one handle this. Any best practices here please

    Hi ,

You should not worry about JVM version for the SUM as it does include its own JVM.

Conversion does create a copy of the original table, thus it should be easy to restore the data/table using transaction ICNV

    Regards
