Lumira Geographic Hierarchy scope

I am thinking in using Geographic Hierarchy in the datas sets. I am with the doubt if is possible to use it in another locations, for example, I live in central america but do not know if it works in countrys for example Guatemala , El Salvador and Honduras. I do not know the scope of the Geographic Hierrarchy. I know it can use latitude and longitude data, Any opinions ?

    Latitude and longitude should work

See SAP Lumira 1.17: Create a geographic hierarchy based on latitude and longitude
