How to edit the Transfer order

Hello All,

I need to create a transfer order for a delivery in foreground mode. While creating this i have to select some particular products.

Once the TO is created i have to make some changes in the TO (like i need to change the product).

For this at current i am cancelling the TO and creating a new TO for the delivery selecting the same products which i have selected before (Only one product is changed now).

To do this i have to copy/ note down the products which i have selected earlier and have to select the same now.

Is that possible to edit/ change the TO created, so that i can change only the product which is changed.

I am very new to SAP. Can anyone help me on this?

Thank you.

Hi Saranya,

The TO which you are creating is based on the delivery, so you cannot change material # in the TO,unless you change the material # in the delivery.

You have mentioned currently you doing like this, creating a new TO is fine, but how are you creating a new TO w.r.t to delivery but different material in the TO?

Or are you creating a stand alone TO  and changing the material there?

(without referance to delivery)

If you are not chaning the material #, then please let us know what exactly you want to change in the TO? or destination bin?

For this at current i am cancelling the TO and creating a new TO for the delivery selecting the same products which i have selected before (Only one product is changed now).

Hello Ravindran,

I am sorry, if i was not clear.

It's the same material I need to select but from different batch (i think this is what called as bin).

So I don't have to do changes in the delivery, but in the TO where i need to select the batch (which gives the instruction from where the material has to be taken).

Thank you.

It's not possible to do that. Like I said at most you can change the destination bin if the system is configured that way.

What you should do is review batch determination so that you don't have to keep changing it. Something is wrong with the process if you have to keep changing the batch manually.

Hi Saranya,

You are confusing two different things, batch is different and storage bin is different.

Both are totally different.

If you are looking for changing the batch, then probably check your delivery whether it has correct batch, if not then it needs to be changed in the delivery not in TO.Check how the batch gets updated in the delivery and ensure that the delivery is updated with correct batch.

If you are looking for changing the bin, then as mentioned by Ricardo, check the thread.

This will help you to decide the destination bin before Confirming the TO @ the first attempt itself.

There is no need to change the TO.

Unless the batch is being determined by WM, which is the normal setup.

I wouldn't say that this is the normal setup, it is just one option. The batch determination in WM is less powerful compared to the batch determination in the delivery.

Of course if you search only based on some standard characteristics like SLED or batch number then WM is sufficient, but if you search with specific characteristics maybe even customer specific ( ship needs 40 days to Australia hence only batches with a remaining SLED of xxx days; color Gardner in a range of xx, pH value from x,xx to x,xx) then the search via delivery is the much better option.

The problem in this discussion is actually that the OP is searching for a convenient workaround in a TO which legitimates an inaccuracy in his stock figures. If his physical stocks would match with the book inventory, then he never had this need to correct/change the content of of a  TO.

So it seems he actually does not even want to correct his stocks to avoid this issue in future pickings. From my point of view a wrong approach.

Allow me to disagree. The problem with this discussion is that the answer has already been stated several times, and yet the discussion continues.

The question is:

Is that possible to edit/ change the TO created, so that i can change only the product which is changed.

The answer is "No". Period. Continuing the discussion gives hope to the OP, where this is none.

Hi Saranya,

I am not clear with your Business Process. My Understanding is : You are cancelling the TO for Old Product and creating another TO for new product.

LT1A is the only transaction code to Change the transfer Order. But this does not allow you to change the material number or the storage bin.

So you need to make some process improvements during the creation of TO w.r.t Delivery, so that it picks the correct Product.

Thanks,

Hello Sai Arala,

The actual scenario is to create a TO selecting the product from some batches (we say it as batch).

After which we are coming to know that there is no stock physically in that particular batch (for one product).

So, we need to cancel the TO how much the line items may be and generate a new TO selecting the same batches (for the rest items) and a new batch to the item which doesn't have stock.

Hope this explained will be fine.

Thank you.

Saranya,

Without proper Inventory the system will never create a Transfer Order. The TO is created only if there is enough stock to be picked.

Also Batch Management is a different concept. If there is no stock in one batch, then the system would not create a TO. And it is not possible for you to create a TO for a different batch, if there is a different batch already maintained in the Delivery.

Thanks,

Sai Arala.

Once the TO is created i have to make some changes in the TO (like i need to change the product).

You can't. It's not possible in SAP. At most you can change the destination bin depending on your configuration, but the product is impossible.

Kamlesh Arya   can you explain how you get the loop to ME22N as answer to this  question?

Hi, look at here, seems like someone else was having the same issue. (thread 1389059)

Hope it helps you.

The issue is not the same, he says he needs to change the product and that link is for changes to the destination bin.
