Can we implement BI using only and only BI content?

Hi Gurus,

Can we populate Purchase Cubes using only and only BI content objects?

Datasource, Infosource, DSO, cube along with transformation to get DTP from object to object,..all default BI content without any enhancement or modification.

Please let me know.

Thank you in advance....

It was my ignorance which confused me.

after successful activation of BI Contents ,i had to just search for the activated Cube in modelling screen(rsa1) under InfoProvider. Once i found the cube, further drill down got me entire chain and could populate target cube further.

Thank You.

Hi,

Assuming as your familair with BW concepts(implementaion steps)

SAP already given lot of  standard info objects/data sources/dtp/transformations/data targets.

if those are full fill your client needs then no issue.

if your client need some modifications while loading data into bw side then you may need routines/look up. its purely depend on client needs.

You can cross check your clients and install required data flow.

load data into bw side and do the reporting.

Thanks

Hi Ramanjaneyulu,

I am familiar with BW concepts ,but m a novice here,i am  looking forward to populate SD_C03, i activated bi content for the cube with before after objects, automatic collection.how should i link all objects once all objects are successfully activated for data flow.

any info on same would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I guessed that as your novice.Other wise you won't ask about how to use activated objects.

Have you any notes or training material, please refer them once again. The things which your asked are  too basics and not allowed here to spoon feeding.  Put some efforts and understand BW ETL(Extraction, transferring and loading) concepts.

Ok, Due that BI cont activation Whole data flow was active.

Before bw objects activation first you need to activate your data sources at ECC side RSA5.

In general this is data flow

ECC data source(active)---> replicate data source into bw side---> once data source was active in bw side then thru transformations we will connect data source--->target(cube or DSO).

On Google you can search similar or related words, you may get useful informations.

like R/3 to bw extraction steps or  LO Extractions.

Thanks

hi Snehit,

I think it is possible to do it as long as your client does not have any needs which are not fulfilled using the standard content (this scenario in itself is almost impossible to occur).

So as long as your requirements are fulfilled, you can stick to the standard content.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

hi Snehit,

Data flow generally is like:

Source System    --Infopackage-->   PSA (BW)     --DTP-->       DSO          --DTP-->       Cube.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
