Get the live data in Dashboard?

Hi All,

Is it possible to get the live data to the report, without refreshing the dashboard?

if any one can help me on this...

Hello Goverdhan,

If your dashboard is based on WEBI Report, then you also need to schedule your report(frequency is as per requirement) so that the report contains the refreshed data every time you open the dashboard.

Its all depends upon your connection and source type, Please surf in SCN before posting the question there are N number of threads are available on this.

Webservice & XML Connectivity are the two connections which supports the automatic refresh from source without any workaround.

Also you can use the refresh button in the dashboard to get the latest data but you need to press the refresh button.

Here, my user want to view the dashboard through his mobile,when he open the dashboard he will be able to get live data without clicking the refresh button?

Yes its possible, by using "refresh after components loaded" option or "before" based on your logic you can achieve this.

Hi Govardhan,

In order to get a live data there are different connections which can be used in Dashboard depending upon your requirement.

eg :

QaaWs, Live office, BI web service, Query browser for (Dashboards 4.0 onwards).

At the same time as mentioned by Abhilasha, there are different ways of refreshing the connections and getting the live data.

Hi Govardhan,

To get live data in dashboard you have different connections depending on the data source.
And for refresh you have 3 options :

>refresh before comonents are loaded -> this refreshes when the dashboard is viewed by the user.
>on trigger -> this refreshes dashboard based on certain selection
>refresh every -> here mention the interval after which you want to refresh the connection.
