SMP 3.0 Create Agentry Application as Production

I have SMP 3.0 (SP03 PL01) installed as a production environment.  I need to create an Agentry application as a Production environment so I can publish the Agentry application as Production application.

However, whenever I create an Agentry application, the "dummy" Agentry.ini file that gets created has the "developmentenvironment=true" value set.  This value can not be updated in the Cockpit (it is grayed out).  If I update the value in the the Agentry.ini file to "false" via a text editor, then stop and start the SMP service, the log files states:

The developmentServer setting in the [Configuration] section is wrong; resetting it to true.  Note that this setting will be removed in a future version of Agentry since it can be inferred from definitions.

How can I create an Agentry application in the Cockpit that is an Agentry Production environment as I am needing to publish?

Thanks,

Ed

You don't need to change the value anymore.  take the Zip Production logic file that the editor corrects and import to the to the SMP 3 Server on the Publish section.  The SMP Server will switch the flog for you.

But when I try to publish from the Agentry Editor and point it to the agentry.application folder, it says that I'm trying to publish a production application to a development environment and does not allow me.

When you installed your SMP 3.0 server did you select Development installation?  If so then it defaults the Agentry applications to developmentServer=True.

Have you tried manually editing the Agentry.ini in that directory and publishing?

Bill, when I created it, I created it as a Production environment (per the original post).  I would have expected an Agentry application to be created as "developmentServer=False".  I was able to manually edit the "dummy" Agentry.ini file, though, to make it False and was able to publish, but I wouldn't expect to have to hack it to make it work.

Ed,

I installed my as Development and the developmetnServer=True is always set for me in my Agentry.ini (even if I change it to false the next restart switches it to true).  I can of course change it to False and then publish from the editor to generate files for moving to another server.

I have not done a Production install yet so I will have to give that a try.

Basically you have to publish the Production ".zip" file (which should contain your Agentry.ini file that says "developmentenvironment=False"), then in the Management Cockpit, from the Agentry application when you Import it, save, restart the SMP service, it will automatically change to a Production environment.
