Canada year-end report for company code transfers during the year

Hi All,

This is with reference to multiple T4 / Rel forms for a Canadian employee who is transferred from one company code to another during the year. Our client requires creation of 2 T4s (or Rel forms) based on the company code transfers. We have the same registration numbers across the company codes which creates only 1 T4 for the year.

Scenario / Example:

Employee is in company code 1 from period Jan 1st to 14 March 2017 and then is transferred to company code 2 from period 15 March 2017.

I have tried different scenarios to check if multiple T4s can be generated - terminate and then rehire into another company code (creates 2 payroll records and 2 payslips) and also direct company code transfer (no termination-generates 1 payroll record).

There is no change to the provincial record, however, I have delimited the records for 461 to 464 according to the company code transfer date.

When executing the year-end form PC00_M07_CCYR, the report creates only 1 T4. When I extract the report based on company codes, the output is the same for both company codes.

Is there a solution for this requirement? If so, I would appreciate your expert guidance on the same and also please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Shilpa

If Revenu Canada established that only one Registration Number (RN) was required, it means that they established that there is only one Company and that all employees have similar benefits.

The only way you could possibly achieve what you require would be to execute the T4s by Company Code (through a Custom Program), and you should first check with Revenu Canada to see if they would accept such a split.

Hi Rémi,

Thanks for your reply.

Our client had mentioned, they wanted multiple T4s. We reached out to SAP and they confirmed that there would be only 1 T4 if the registration number across the company codes is the same (same as what you have mentioned in your response).

They did approach Revenu Canada and have agreed to generate one T4 if the employee moves across the multiple company codes during the year (as all company codes have the same RN).

Thanks again for your support.
