Hello,
One of my customers is trying to run Live Office (BI 4.1) on an App-V environment. He virtualized Live Office plugin and tries to run it on a client. The Live Office plugin seems to work fine and users are able to login to the BO-server with it and select a report. But after that (selecting an element of the report to use in excel) Live Office throws an error: "the invoked member is not supported in a dynamic assembly". This error seems to be related with .Net framework, but according to my customer .NET Framework 4.5.1 is installed and available for the applications. On the server where Live Office was installed initially and virtualized it works fine, so this issue has something to do with virtualization I think.
Does anyone have experience with App-V virtualization and Live Office? Is this scenario supported/tested by Business Objects?
Hello,
It is supported to use virtual desktop with Bi client tools such as Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
This is with reference to the PAM below:
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41355
SAP BOE Client tools using Microsoft Application Virtualization (APP-V) has not
been officially tested and it is not supported.
I hope this helps.
Thanks & Regards,
Insaf
