WAS 6.20 Installation error SMD Installation/Upgrade Phase

Hi,

I have the follow error during installation of WAS 6.20 Central System on Windows 2000 (SP4), Oracle 8.1.7.3.

During sapinst, the SMD Installation/Upgrade phase, the sapinst was canceled, with the follow log:

WARNING 2005-12-02 11:32:34

PROBLEM: 'C:\jdk1.3.1_08\bin\java' not found. CAUSE: Unable to find application via absolute path in filesystem. Application could perhaps be found using environment variable path or is really missing. Trying to call the application nevertheless.

CAUSE: Could not start application or application returned with error code. SOLUTION: Check the existence of application and its privileges.

FJS-00012 Error when executing script.

The JAVA_HOME is right! java -version in found! sapinst starts!

The SMD phase count not to write in SDM directories, but I have the correct permission.

Can you help me?

    Hi,

    The solution for this problem, need to set the particular value in the Heap size and retry the installation.

    Go to Visal administrator and navigate the server instance

    reaplace the value as 64 in the previous value place

    -Xmx(previous value)M -Djava.ext.dirs

    now the value like -Xmx64M -Djava.ext...

    and save this value and retry your installation.

    It will success.
