Is "Lowercase letters" check mark allow special characters in BI !!!

Hi,

     In our BI 7.3 system have invalid character issue, Its not allowing other country characters like Lithuania, Latvian. To resolve this issue we given chek mark for "Lowercase letters" in Info object field. After that onwards its allowing all country characters.

    Now my question, is it good habbiet to give chek mark for "Lowercase letters" in Info object field. Is it effect any where in BI system.

      Please provide your valuable resonpses.

Hi,

some times have both letters have capital and small letters.

if check the check boxes it will allow the lower case lettets.

ex-  KODANDApani KV -  if not checking the check box before loading you will get error means you have capital and small.

after selecting check box if you load the data you won't get any error.

one more option is there in transformation TOUPPER formula function.

if you apply the formula specif object this function convert to lowercase letter to upper case letters.

Hi Manju,

Am not sure on the Documents...but you can search in SCN ...there are many cases related to Lower Case Tick.

Above check option is useful to allow lower case letter as well. other wise BW system will accept capital text letters.

Selecting that option its solve your issue then go ahead..

Nothing will impact if you select above option.

its just allow lower case letters fro particular info object now onwards.

You can use F1 help on that option. You may see that option function in detailed.

This is very simple and basic option.

Hi Manju,

It is not a good habit to select lower case letters.If you select it for a particular characteristic and you created variable on that,system expects that the input should be same as the value exist in the system.

Normal cases ,whatever you enter it will either lower case or upper case system converts into upper case ,then takes it as input.
