Impact of new Controlling Area

Hi All,

I would like to know what will be the impact of creating new Controlling Area in the existing landscape. Looking for impact / additional effort on FI / CO / SD and MM areas.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Francis,

Why you want to create a new controlling area?

You want to assign a new company code to it. If you assign a more than one new company code to controlling area, you will have to maintain a different currency at controlling area level.

If your companies are located in different countries, then it is advisable to maintain group currency. So that reporting will be done in all the required currencies. One catch here is the Fiscal year variant and chart of accounts must be same for all the company codes.
