Hi Forum,
When comparing RoS and SLC what are the differences from Security point?
Does SLC provides enhanced security options?
What are the potential security risks with RoS?
Thanks,
Anubhav
Hi Anubhav,
As such there is no security problem with ROS as well as SLC.
Just you need to make sure both the system should be exposed outside firewall so supplier can access and have no access to your SRM client or inside firewall.
In SLC you have to setup another server or client SELL Side for supplier.

Hi Anubhav
SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management covers the entire supplier lifecycle, from supplier registration to supplier qualification, supplier evaluation, supplier classification, activity management, and supplier data management.
This allows you to increase transparency, reduce costs, and build sustainable supplier relationships.
SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management is split into the sell side and the buy side. Potential suppliers and suppliers operate only outside the firewall, that is, on the sell side, whereas employees in your company only operate behind the firewall, that is, on the buy side.

I guess SLC is far easier to deploy, more flexible and looks better.
From a security point of view you should be aware that between sell-side and buy-side there's a bgRFC connection (so you'll have an open port). For SRM you'll need PI and an open port aswell, I guess it doesn't really matter from a security point of view.
