BEx Query Transport

Hi,

I want to transport Bex query which I modified but I don't want to transport any variable associated with the query. When I click on "Query Element" check box, it selects all the objects underneath it including variables and I don't want to manually uncheck any box as there are chances I may or may not select any object that i don't want to transport.

I know if I check the query name check box (highlighted in red in below screenshot) then I can only select the objects I need to transport but the check box highlighted in red is grayed out

How can i select the check box in front of my query (highlighted in red) why is it grayed out, will appreciate your help, thanks.Regards

Hi RON,

In RSA1, Transport Connection while collecting the objects you can find if any of the object assigned already in the transport request.

Thanks,

Kokila

Hi RON,

Your query must be captured in a transport request. Please once you click on transport it will give you the transport request no. in yellow status message.

Hi,

you can check the TR in SE09 -> give the user name -> select modified or released -> click on display -> expand the task and request and check the which object you collected under the TR.

look at the screen shot.

Thanks,

Phani.

Hi RON,

If your query is locked in some other transport, it will always show greyed out like below:

Please go to T code SE03 and unlock the transport number where your query is locked.

Now you can re collect your query in new transport, with new bex package and release.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi RON,

Once you see the transport request nos. in the yellow status message or besides the objects once you drag the object in the collection area, a column would be named as Transport request. Against each object, if it is collected, it will show the TR no. note them down.

For deletion of those Transport Request: Go to se01 and enter the transport request no. . In that transport request, search for query elements drill down. Select it and right click and delete it (It will say objects are locked still enter 'Yes')

Hi RON,

It is always recommended to transport bex query along with its query elements.

But in case, you dont want query elements to be transported and query has been greyed out, you can follow as below :

1. Select query. Right click and select transport all below :

2. Then click on query elements and right click, select do not transport any below :

This will help.

Hi,

Along with bex query you better to transport variables as well.

Other wise you may face inconsistency issue at prod.

As you said check box option was disabled mean that query may collected into request and not transported/released. so please check there it self collected request number or at SE03 and release or delete it.

later you can collect bex query into transport by selecting that check box.

Thanks

Hi,

You can select grayed out check box by right click on the box and select the option 'Transport All Below'. This will make you to select all the objects.

I don't think have option automatically to deselect variables. You can manually deselect the particular object by right click on the check box and select the option 'Do Not Transport Any Below'.

You can collect the query changes as

Before doing changes in query:

Create a BEx request - through RSA1 - Transport Connection and on the Transport Connection menu you need to hit on 'BEx' logo with the TR vehicle and then you will get the below screen, click on Assign/Delete, and create the TR for BEx first. All the changes you do to the transported Queries are then captured in this TR.

After doing changes in query:

Go to RSA1, then transport connection in here, find the Query Elements, expanding it, you can find your query.. then transfer it to the right pane and capture the neccessary objects in requests.  A new task will be created.  You need to ensure that all the calculated key figures/ restricted key figures/ variables/ are captured in the transport request.   Once you have the request, you can release it and then import in the quality box

Thanks,

Kokila

Hi Kokila,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually when you select query check box, it automatically deselect the variables associated under query element.

Some times manually select or un-select could be pain when there are hundreds of check boxes.

I appreciate your detail reply.

Hi,

May be already you transported the specific variable

if you already transported by default it will be disable mode.

better thing delete the TR form SE03 if not yet release.

HI,

If you select the query element check box it will collect along with the variable and RKF and CKF.

other wise remove the variable in DEV system collect the one more TR

transport overwrite function.

Thanks,

Phani.
