SAP HANA Hierarchies with WEBI

Hi,

We have a requirement in which we need to use SAP HANA hierarchies in WEBI reports.

As per SAP, we cannot use HANA hierarchies in WEBI and we can go with Analysis to leverage hierarchies created in SAP HANA.

Other way is that we can create Universe with custom hierarchies.

Can anyone please suggest, if there are any preferred methods/options to use HANA hierarchies in WEBI reports.

Thanks

Vaishali

    Hi,

You can use level-hierarchy in WebI (like oldschool hierarchy worked in BO, as a drill-path)

in addition you can combine break and (un)fold to have a parent-child -like - hierarchy.

    Hi Vaishali,

SAP HANA hierarchies are not yet supported in IDT, so you will have to define the hierarchy universe level.

Otherwise you will have to create Analysis view using Analysis for office and make it as the source for webI report. But i believe you cannot schedule an analysis view like a webi report. so every time you will have to manually refresh the view to get refreshed data in webi. Check below link.

Can I create HANA hierarchies in WEBI via a universe. I recall that the last time I checked, WEBI doesn't support hierarchies from HANA. We would have to create navigational paths in IDT. Is there a workaround to this yet? I have a requirement to create a profit center hierarchy as part of my report in WEBI.
