Migration of dc from 7.0. to 7.31

Hi experts ,

For migrating dc "abcreport" from 7.0. to 7.31 we usually , create a dc with same name as abcreport in 7.31 studio , then we copy the src folder and replace with src folder of 7.31version dc and continue the steps given in cheat sheet ,

now instead of copying the src why cant we copy the dc itself like abcreport from 7.0 workspace to 7.31 workspace and import it into 7.31 studio and continue migrating ?
