Hello All,

after a long time i have the solution now, I copied the graph including trendline, equation etc to a new sheet, and refreshed the data, graphs changed according to the new data.

By default Excel opens three sheet, My first sheet has data from bw, second sheet has graph, trendline, etc and third sheet deleted.

Thanks to all

Hi Manna,

we use the same workaround with AO 1.9 including FP 1 to retain the formatting and even filtered components in a graph.

Have you had a response from SAP Support that they were able to reproduce the issue and provided an ADAPT number including a fix target?

Thanks for letting us know.

Regards,

Jörn

Hi Jorn,

SAP support reproduced the error but solution they have provide does not work. They said remove the second colomn from the query. try Name ranges (I don't know what is that), second filter the colomn when u get results blah blah stuff. they have not provided any ADAPT no.

I have been into this problem from long time and i have tried all suggested options but without moving the chart to new sheet there is no other way to retain the formatting.

Kind Regards

Hi guys,

most important to know about formats is, if you have checked this box or not:

Is there any difference if you un-check it, or vice versa?

Hello Martin,

This option doesn't make changes to graphs, trendline or equation.

Hi all

I use the styles in AO to format all areas in the coloring I like to see ( result lines etc) and saved it as my own template (default style).

That customized style can de distributed as XML to other users using the same CI (corporate identity)

All my charts I use in AO workbooks are customized and stay even after refresh

I run AO1.4 SP8 and all is fine

Hi Jorg,

I have so many workbooks, so this option will not be helpful in my case.

Hi Manna,

maybe one of my favorite excel tricks may help

In case you need to modify several workbooks, you could write a little program to exchange the styles within your workbooks to adopt to a single style( all workbooks will look like the style you defined)

In case you're running Excel 2007 and higher (xlsx extension) you need to know the following.

Excel xlsx is just a zip file.

Try it !

Just take any of your workbooks and save a copy and rename it from my_WB.xlsx to my_WB.zip

The use your favorite zip tool and look into  the zip file ( see picture 1)

my workbook name was Simple with chart.xlsx ==> Simple with chart.zip

You will see the xl folder ...

double click to see its content

Here you will find your style xml file you may exchange.

In that file you will find all SAPxxx styles as well as your self defined ones.

We  wrote an .Net application for one of our customers to modify such structure elements.

After modification, just rename the file back to xlsx and you will see that the colors look like redefined in styles.xml.

Hi,

Can you be more specific what formats lost , what are the changes and how you defined ?

did you have a chance to check with SP7 ?

Hello Venkata,

I have line charts, scatter charts with trendline and equation. When i update this with new data, the charts changed and equation is gone.

SP7 of Analysis Office - could you try that?  That is the latest release for Analysis Office.

What version of BI Platform are you using?

I will try with SP7, but i think that will not help.

BI Platform version - BI 4.0

Hi Manna Das,

Not, I had not to make my workbooks again. I applied SP08 and after that, my workbooks could refresh without formatting changes.

Hi Tammy ,

I am also facing Similar issue, In my report i have customized sap style set as per my requirement. And i saved it, Its working only for "Sap Dimension cell" style , where aa "SAPMemebercell" its not retaining after doing data refresh (Refresh ALL tab).

I am using 1.4.42736 release version of Analysis office

Can we write VBA or any Macro to retain the Style after refresh ?

Appreciate your quick reply .

Thanks in advance,

Reg
